How to Adopt
For many places, when you adopt a puppy, you choose the puppy photo that has caught your eye. You ask if it's available, and then you adopt the puppy you chose. With Darling Doodles we do things differently. There are so many families waiting to adopt a puppy with us that we've needed to create an order of deposit list for available puppies. For the many years we've been matching families with adorable puppies we have found this to be not only the fairest way, but also much more fun! With our method of adoption you get to choose your puppy in order of your decision to adopt. Here, let's go over the steps in order:
The Decision - You don't know which puppy you will choose, but you've made the decision to adopt with Darling Doodles & Poos. Hey, that rhymes. We will place you on our waiting list for the upcoming litter of the breed you are getting; either Cavapoo or Cockapoo. This can be done for either a current litter or future litters.
Deposit - To lock in your spot we will need to take down some basic contact information from you. We will then email you our purchase agreement form to fill out and send back with your $500 deposit. (Personal checks or Cashier checks are acceptable or Paypal upon request with applicable fee) This deposit order determines the order in which you will choose your puppy at the Meet and Greet.
Meet & Greet - When the puppies of your specific litter are 8 weeks old, we host a meet and greet for families to choose their puppy in person in order of the deposits (or via Skype for those unable to travel to our home). We allow ample time for you to just hang out and play with the puppies to determine which one fits your family the best. Or sometimes the puppy picks you.
4) Going Home - You take your puppy home from the meet and greet and let the fun begin. If you make arrangements with us ahead of time, we are willing to keep your puppy with us for an extended amount of time. Full purchase price is required upon the regularly scheduled departure date. We charge $150 a week for holding your puppy. This includes the additional food, deworming, possible immunizations, and care the puppy will require while they are with us. We will also begin crate training and potty training.
(This service is only available to accommodate our customers with extreme scheduling conflicts when picking up their new puppies. It is not intended as a boarding service and is subject to our availability. Thank you)
